As TRACKER Biobank marks its remarkable first year, we celebrate a year of innovation, collaboration, and progress. Together with patients, clinicians, and researchers, TRACKER is advancing the future of lung cancer care.

Building a National Network

In its inaugural year, TRACKER successfully established a robust national presence by securing nine clinical sites across five Australian states. This network is key to collecting the vital patient samples needed to drive transformative research in lung cancer.

Empowering Research Through Generosity

Thanks to the selflessness of 97 lung cancer patients, recruited through Austin Health and The Royal Melbourne Hospital, TRACKER has processed an extraordinary 3,222 vials of tissue, blood, lung fluid, and their derivatives. These invaluable samples are now actively enabling cutting-edge research to:

  • 🔬 Predict and prevent treatment-related side effects, improving patient safety.

  • 🛡️ Combat treatment resistance, providing hope for those facing difficult challenges.

  • 🌟 Enhance care & outcomes, advancing personalised medicine for lung cancer patients.

TRACKER acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the lands across Australia, whose cultures and customs have nurtured and continue to nurture this land. We pay our respects to the Elders past, present and emerging. We also acknowledge the overrepresentation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in lung cancer and we commit to working together with Community to close this gap.
